ADVANCE COURSES
Mayo Middle School offers advance courses in mathematics and literature. Students may earn placement into these courses based on criteria used from grades, test scores, and teacher recommendations. If parents or students have any questions about how a student earns placement into one of these courses, please consult the student handbook's "Frequently Asked Questions" section or contact the Mayo Middle School Office.
RESPONSE TO INTERVENTION
All students at Mayo Middle School are part of the RTI (Response to Intervention) process. This process is procedure for monitoring students' mathematics and reading levels and ensuring all students are receiving quality instructional opportunities. If a student is not reading or performing math at grade level, the student then provided additional minutes of instruction. For more information about our RTI program, please consult the student handbook's "Frequently Asked Questions" section or contact the Mayo Middle School Office.
POSITIVE BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONS AND SUPPORTS
All students at Mayo Middle School are part of the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program. This program is organized to provide students with clear expectations, consequences, and positive reinforcement for behaviors at school. It is the goal of our PBIS program to create a safe school and productive learning environment. For more information about our PBIS program, please consult the PBIS webpage under "Curriculum" on the Mayo Middle School website or contact the Mayo Middle School Office.
